I've only lived in the area for a few months, and am still getting to know the local businesses. I was thrilled to find Brown's Service Station. I'm always happy to find a locally owned business that I can work with, even more so when they are good. I stopped in for a simple tire repair, having run over a bit of broken glass that my right rear tire had objected to in a most strenuous manner.
It was a simple repair, but I know where I'll be going for my fuel, and tire needs from now on.
I did not think that service stations like this still existed. The adjoining tire shop is much newer, but the filling station has been in operation at this location since 1922, and they still do things much the way they did back then. It is a full service filling station, in a day and age when such things are nearly unheard of. You would think that the price of fuel would be much higher than at the pump-it-yourself places, but that does not seem to be the case. The staff is helpful, and friendly. It is the exact opposite of the chain service stations, and big box store auto department experiences that I've had.
